This May 2019, Fakenham will be electing its Town Councillors who will sit for the next 4 years. With 16 seats to fill this is your opportunity to have your say.
- Have you ever wanted to get something done for your community?
- Have you ever thought how the Council could better spend their budget?
- Have you ever wanted to improve the town’s public services?
If you can commit some of your time and are determined, capable, hard-working, willing to learn and have a passion for your community, then why not stand as a Town Councillor?
Your decisions will ultimately affect the lives of the town’s residents and can be a key part of campaigning on a local level, so if you’ve ever had concerns about where you live or you want to get involved with the services that the Council provides, becoming a Local Councillor is one way you can become a voice and a decision-maker for your local area and the town in general.
Becoming a Town Councillor means that you can help people to get the services they deserve, and influence the running of the town for the benefit of everyone who lives and works here, offering you a chance to serve your community and to get to know it better.
Copies of the Guidance For Candidates for these elections along with a Nomination Pack containing the relevant forms can be found below. These forms can also be downloaded and further information about the elections found at www.electoralcommission.org.uk.
You can also obtain these forms from the Clerk at the Town Council Offices.
But, regardless of the size of the council, working at this level of local government can be varied, rewarding and satisfying.
With all Town and Parish Councils up for election in May, now is a good time to find out more and get involved in your local community. If you would like to know more, please contact the Town Clerk at:
