Pensthorpe Natural Park is well known as a sanctuary for thousands of different birds but now, thanks to its sponsorship of GoGoCreate, part of the Break charity’s GoGoHare project, it is also increasing Norfolk’s population of leverets (young hares).
For instance, the hare above photographed at Pensthorpe, was decorated by by local Fakenham designer Andy Ward and can now be seen upstairs at intu Chapelfield shopping centre, Norwich.
In fact in addition to Andy, GoGoCreate briefed 163 youth groups, schools, scout and guide troops, community and sports clubs on the project and they are all taking part. You can now see all their creative results out on the streets in a mini-trail around Norwich.
All 164 leverets are on show around the city from 2nd July – 2nd September in a wide range of locations. There is also a poster to pick up in the Chapelfield Gallery (please check the website for locations and times of opening).
And, of course, you can still see Lancaster, Fakenham’s own GoGoHare decorated by artist Hannah Nelson and one of 68 Hares in towns and districts throughout Norfolk, in the Fakenham Market Square until 2nd September.
